The Woman Behind Mayan Harvest
Rosalba Cifuentes Tovia was raised between Tapachula and the coffee-growing mountains of Bella Vista, where coffee has shaped family life for generations.
Growing up surrounded by coffee producers, she witnessed both the beauty of the region and the challenges faced by smallholder farmers. She understood that producing exceptional coffee did not always guarantee fair compensation.
Rather than accepting that reality, Rosalba set out to change it.
She personally introduced her coffees to specialty roasters across California, building relationships one conversation at a time. Her persistence opened doors for the producers of Bella Vista and helped establish Mayan Harvest as one of Mexico’s most respected specialty coffee exporters.
Today, her work continues to connect producers, roasters, and consumers through complete traceability, uncompromising quality, and lasting partnerships.

One Conversation at a Time
Success did not happen overnight.
When Rosalba first introduced Mayan Harvest coffees to U.S. specialty roasters, she personally visited roasteries with samples, determined to show that coffees from Bella Vista deserved a place alongside the world’s finest origins.
Every new relationship represented another opportunity—not only for herself, but for the producers who trusted her with their harvests.
Those relationships continue today and have helped bring recognition to coffees that were once virtually unknown outside southern Mexico.
